The “Come a little closer” EP in 2011 was the first official release from Brighton based Ambassadeurs. But although that was the first release that you could buy, it wasn’t his most successful. That would be M.O.P.E. the soundcloud hit with 20,000 plays and 4000 downloads which meant even before he had a record deal, he had offers to play in Amsterdam, Poland, Belgium, Germany and the US, and when he played there people were singing along. We proudly present our newest project in cooperation with Kaiku Studios and Nordic by Nature: POOL
The 25th of January is the launch of the new showcase series POOL at Berlin’s Prince Charles Club. The aim of POOL is to expose previously undiscovered talent to a diverse and discerning audience. The guests will represent a cross section of the Berlin music industry and press. The artists will be selected from a wide spectrum of countries and genres. The only requirement is that the music must be exciting, fresh, and new. Representatives from Labels, Booking Agencies, Management Companies, Studios and the Press will have the chance to speak in a relaxed environment while discovering new bands and DJ’s that are, as yet, unsigned and/or have no Management and Booking representation. POOL will invite guests from a representative cross section of Berlin’s music industry, while also hosting international guests from major A&R’s to Start-Up companies. Sponsor support will allow for a free entrance policy and also make access by industry newcomers possible.

This year Kevin Saunderson, Ann Saunderson and Paris Grey, collectively known as the legendary band Inner City, release ‘Future’, their first entirely new material since taking a break in 1996, written and produced in collaboration with Detroit legends, namely Kenny Larkin with additional production duties by the very talented producer/remixer Orlando Voorn. The track marks a welcome return for a group that combined the tough, futuristic grooves of the Detroit scene with the vocal energy of R&B and gospel and helped to define the period in which house and techno moved from underground phenomena to top 10 material, paving the way for hundreds of dance hits to come. ‘Future’ is devastatingly catchy and highly emotional, exhibiting all the soulful flavours and qualities you would expect from these celebrated producers and singers.

After an intimate kick-off party in April and an offSonar party in Barcelona with the Gomma Crew we are happy to announce another edition of a music and fun loving FLING party in our hometown of Berlin.
This time we celebrate the upcoming album of production genius JOAKIM alongside with friends of the Fling family such as HUNEE, JI-HUN KIM, TDAANCE and berlin newby PROJECT MATT. The party will take place on September 23 in one of Berlin‘s newest and hottest locations, the Prince Charles Club at Moritzplatz, Kreuzberg.

Please welcome one of the best voices on planet earth!
Billie Ray Martin came to greater prominence leading the acclaimed deep house act Electribe 101, her unique voice hitting the house scene and charts alike with a serious infusion of soul.
She followed this with a series of acclaimed singles and collaborations with artists like Al Green, Aretha Franklin, Dj Hell, Slam, just to name a few.
The current single ‘Sweet Suburban Disco’ (released in March 2011) with mixes by amongst other greats, Vince Clarke, is creating a storm out there, with the world’s key DJs from Black Strobe to John Digweed giving it full support.
Also currently out and in the Music Week Cool Cuts Charts at Number 14 (release date 25.4.11), is the ‘Sold Life’ E.P. by Billie Ray Martin and Hard Ton, also released on her own Disco Activisto label. Back to Billie’s old school house roots, it’s one of the releases creating a serious buzz right now, with mixes by Snuff Crew and Luke Solomon and charted by everyone from Laurent Garnier to Kim Foxman from Hercules and Love Affair.
In September 2011, Billie and musician Robert Solheim are finally releasing their album “Hollywood Under The Knife” under the banner of The Opiates.

Joakim – New Album & Live Tour in September

It has been a long time in the making, but in the 2nd Half of 2011 Joakim will release his 4th studio album “Nothing Gold” on Tigersushi Records. It seems impossible to comprehend that the label that brought Joakim as much fame and notoriety as his music, has never released a single piece of music that is 100% produced by him. Alas this fact is true, and therefore it gives us much satisfaction to announce Joakims first single ‘Forever Young’ to be taken from the new Album is also the First Joakim single to be released on Tigersushi on June 13th.

It’s been a while since our last FLING party, but this time we come back with a big bang: Prince Language – one of New York City’s premiere underground DJ’s and producers – will grace the next edition happening 28th April at one of Kreuzberg’s sweetest spots: soju bar.
And if this wasn’t reason enough to party: we also raise our glasses to celebrate our baby FLING coming of age. Starting out as a party for innocent lovers, FLING is now also a joint venture of Annika Weyhrich and Lukas Grenzlehner focussing on booking and PR work.
